Connecticut Valley Wood Carving will be found at many of the following events:

February 22, 2009
At our regular membership meeting in February we will have a guest speaker, Ken Johnson. Ken will provide an overview at 1:30 of color theory and application. Ken is a birdcarver, but the color theory would apply to any type of carving.

March 14-15, 2009
The Mystic Carver's Club will sponsor a weekend with Wayne Barton of the Alpine School of Woodcarving. For those who do not know, Wayne is one of the best Chip Cavers. He is scheduled to come to Mystic on March 14 & 15. The cost will be $150. Last year's class filled up, so get your check into Bob Smith at 14 Babcock Road, Westerly, RI 02891 or please email me.

May 22-25, 2009
The Mystic Carvers Club is pleased to announce their sponsorship of the 2009 CCA CarveAlong East, to be held Friday evening through Monday afternoon, May 22, 23, 24 and 25 (Memorial Day weekend). The site will be the Alton B. Jones Annex of the University of Rhode Island, which is located on 2200 acres of woodlands and ponds, conveniently reached a few miles off of I-95 at exit 5B in West Greenwich, RI (see http://www.uri.edu/ajc/eec/facset.html). Our Package price this year is $350.00, which includes the classes, room and all meals and snacks. The CCA Instructors for 2000 are Desiree Hajny, Pete LeClair and Joe Schumacher. More information.
